Taking care of the delivery of baby in hospitals is not a big issue as professional doctors, nurses and other staff members are present to handle the situation. Giving birth at home can be overwhelming and not hard if all steps are followed, preferably under assistance of someone who has got some knowledge regarding the same. It is a fact that situation favors those who are well prepared and with some knowledge regarding delivery of baby.
Hospitals, nursing homes or medical service providing firms are the best places to be for safe and secured delivery of baby. Giving birth at home can be a bit worry factor for those who are not aware of any of its procedures. In certain emergency situations the family members may not find any time to visit to any hospital nearby and ask for assistance. It might be too late in reaching to any nearby hospital. It might hardly happen that you are required to deliver the baby at home. When such situation arises you need to be brave and face the situation. No need to panic if in case you are required to deliver the baby at home with just the family members around. When you require delivering the baby at home with no professional assistance around you will definitely fell the pressure. Birth of baby is a natural procedure and in very rare cases happens to be an emergency. At times if you face a situation wherein you need to assist the lady in delivering a baby at home you need to follow some steps. - Calming self is the most essential and first step towards the start of baby delivery procedure. Any kind of panic may lead to wrong step and this may create some further problems. You need to fully support the wife and calm her down. Delivery of baby will then be more comfortable and relaxing.
- When you calm yourself it is essential to calm the mom down and make her feel relaxed too. At the time of hard labor, especially during transition, women will defiantly feel anxious as well as overjoyed to see the baby. All the emotions of mom alert you about immediate situations.
- If there is enough time you need to get the mom on clean surface with clean towels placed below her. A clean surface, sheets, cleans atmosphere, clean towels, and other essential equipments. At the time of delivery it is suitable to let the mom settle down on the hard floor instead of on the bed or any other surface that is soft.
- Let the lady sleep in a proper squatting position. With this position the birth canal gets shortened and women can take support of the gravity.
- A deep breath is to be taken by the women at the time of delivering a baby at home or in the hospital. A deep breathe and a strong push whenever she its ready, will begin the delivery procedure. Loud noises and grunts made by the women during delivery are normal. You can even expect a loud scream from her but there is no need to worry. This way the lady utilizes all possible energy to push the baby. This is a definite sign of efforts and hard work that is utilized by the women instead of pain. It is painful but it is not put in to notice by the women.
- As soon as you see the top of babies head you can have a bit of relief. Baby may be delivered in two positions; either the head comes out first or the legs. When you see the head coming out first, this is known as crowning. It is dangerous to try and pull out the baby. You should allow the mom to push the baby out completely. You need to support the perineum so as to avoid its extra tearing.
- You can support and just hold the baby as it comes out but you should avoid pulling it out. Guiding the baby to its birth will offer lots of support to the mom.
- If there is no doctor available at the time of delivery you need to handle things with patience. The baby comes out with a thread attached to it. Slowly cut the thread in between.
- After delivery it is essential to massage the abdomen of mom after every 15 minutes so as to assist the uterus in normal size and stop the bleeding.
