When you're pregnant, you need to worry about a lot of things. All your time is taken up with the responsibilities of raising a child. One aspect of this responsibility only takes less than a minute each day. That is the time that it takes you to take a prenatal vitamin. Prenatal vitamins are very important to the health of both you and your unborn child. Prenatal supplements have the right nutrients that you need to keep yourself and your unborn child healthy. When you're pregnant, you need different nutrients than you would if you weren't carrying a child. The best way to keep healthy is to use these prenatal vitamins. Even if you don't mind about your own health, this is still important to the health of your baby. There are three nutrients that are the most important when it comes to this health; calcium, iron, folic acid. Calcium is very important because, when you are pregnant, you lose a bit of your bone density. By taking calcium every day, you can reverse this bone loss and keep yourself healthy. While almost all prenatal vitamins have calcium, some don't have enough of it. Try to find a supplement that has at least 200 milligrams of calcium, although more is better. For iron, you should make sure that the supplement pill has at least 30 milligrams of it. With this much of this vital nutrient, you will increase the amount of oxygen in your blood, as well as the blood of your baby. Then, the pill should also have enough folic acid. When you have at least 800 micrograms of folic acid on a daily basis, you will drastically reduce the risk of your baby being born with birth defects. Although there are a lot of great things about prenatal vitamins, there are also some side effects. The most common prenatal vitamin side effects have to do with nausea and your stomach. Some people get constipated while others experience diarrhea. Above all, most women who experience side effects, which is pretty rare anyway, feel nausea. They get a feeling as though they are sick to their stomach. The main reason why nausea occurs is because the body isn't used to all of these nutrients. It reacts in this negative way because of this. Most of the time, this feeling will go away after a few days to a week. When your body gets used to the great nutrients in the vitamins, these prenatal vitamin side effects will reduce and disappear. For some women, these nauseous side effects don't ever go away. This is very bad. If this happens to you, you need to contact a doctor right away. Stop taking the pills until you see your doctor. It is up to your OB/GYN on what to do next. They will usually either suggest another method to get nutrients, or they will tell you to go off of the prenatal supplements. It is best to follow the advice of your doctors because they have a good understanding of your body and what is best for you and your baby. Although there are some nasty side effects, these are rare. Even when they happen, they aren't that bad. The great positive effects are worth the chance of feeling nauseous every now and again. You will be much healthier since you'll be taking vitamins that can take care of your body. Your baby will also be healthier. They will be born with as much health, positivity and happiness as possible. Above all, this is the most important and compelling reason to take prenatal supplements. |
